Litigation
The Firm's litigation practice is headed by
founding partner Sheldon Lytton. The Firm’s litigation attorneys
are engaged in a full range of litigation and alternative dispute
resolution matters. The Firm has prosecuted and defended cases
around the country at every level of the federal and state court
systems, as well as before mediators, arbitrators and regulatory
agencies. The litigation group works closely with the other
practice groups, both in a collaborative effort to anticipate
problems, and to efficiently litigate claims when no other
alternatives are available.
The Firm’s
litigation experience includes representation of banks and financial
institutions, securities law matters, complex business disputes
including real estate and entertainment-industry matters, eminent
domain (see below) and employment matters (other than collective
bargaining disputes). The background and public service experience
of the Firm’s partners provide particular expertise in the
representation of clients before government boards and agencies.
Included is representation of clients before the California Public
Utilities Commission in a broad range of regulatory matters, ranging
from regulation of public/private transportation companies to rail
crossings.
